2026-08-21 (entirely-api f1c86fd): closeout screen gained a third option, “Needs another visit — request follow-up” (Darius’s ask 8/20 — the old binary complete/problem choice staged certs prematurely on partial visits). action=follow_up completes today’s visit, sets needs_return_visit (blocks auto-validation + Field Complete advance), queues a return-visit request into the portal /return-visits review queue (notifies up_admin/up_owner + Dustin), requires a “what’s left” note. as_permitted now clears needs_return_visit BEFORE eod_closeout so the final closeout’s inline auto-validation isn’t skipped (eod_closeout never cleared the flag).
2026-10-13 (entirely-api 8abd8c1, deployed): MAN-9259 closed out from unlikely.pics with the photos still on Dustin’s phone — he tapped “Finished — close out” with photos selected but never tapped “Upload”. The page now refuses the closeout step while selected photos are un-uploaded, uploaded files leave the selection (failed ones stay for retry), closeout JSON carries photo_count and the result screen names missing photos. field_inspection.count_field_media is the one photo/pier-log count; closeout_lines carries photo_count + NO_PHOTOS_FOLLOW_UP + “No photos on file at closeout” in the comm log; field_lane.event_closeout_lines prints “⚠️ no photos on file”. Diagnostic: “no photos in portal after a closeout” → count POST /field-upload/p//photo for the stop’s token; zero means they never left the phone.
